The main inspiration for The Star in the Forest was Pollok Park, a country park in Glasgow that is near to Helen Kellock’s studio.
This Scottish-set debut picture book is highly atmospheric and magical.
Helen Kellock is based in Glasgow, Scotland. After studying Fine Art and English Literature as an undergraduate, Helen returned to the Glasgow School of Art to study a Masters in Illustration where she graduated in 2018 with a Distinction and the Chairman’s Medal for Design. In 2019 she took part in the Picture Hook programme and went on to win the Picture Hook Illustrator of the Year Award.
