My ideal reading position: In bed with chocolates
My usual means of marking a place in a book: A tissue or a leaf
My favourite time of year: Very hot summer, although that's probably just because I must enjoy complaining, because that's all I spend my time doing when it's that hot!
My favourite time of day: My early morning coffee - it's all downhill from then (the voice of the addict, I'm afraid...)
My best time for working: In the morning, after everyone else is at work or school and two year old Bruno is watching "Gumby The Movie" for the one hundred and twelfth time (he's learning a lot).
The first piece of writing I was paid for was: a joke in the Sunday Paper when I was twelve. The joke was -
"Doctor, Doctor, I keep thinking I'm a balloon!"
Doctor: "Don't worry, I won't let you down."
I sent it in under a false name (no reason, just a natural tendency for deception) and received a five dollar cheque. Alas, I couldn't cash it because it was in a false name, so that was a lesson!
My favourite TV show: Pingu - A WORK OF GENIUS.
My favourite actor: Paul Scofield
My favourite song: "California Dreaming" by the Mamas and the Papas, but  that's just one of quite a few....
The creaure comfort I would most unwillingly relinquish: Coffee. I cannot relinquish it.
My favourite sweet food: White Chocolate Cheesecake
My favourite savory food: Very hot curries
My typical bedtime is: 10ish, but then I lie awake listening to the radio often till one or two in the morning
My mousemat design: A Panda  Bear or a mousetrap
The tidiest place in my home is: A very challenging question.....perhaps my mousemat!
The untidiest place in my home is: My bedside table drawers, but they look very neat from the outside.
The working tool I would least like to do without: My editor at Penguin, Jane Godwin! (and my computer...)
