Special Guest #14 ~ Rhiannon Lassiter |
Rhiannon Lassiter was born and grew up in Crouch End, north London. At Coleridge Junior School her favourite teacher was Mr Brown, who taught her Macbeth for the first time. She hated it at her first secondary school--Hornsey School for Girls--but remembers Kate Chapman, her English teacher.
Rhiannon's parents decided to move her to Channing Independent Day School for Girls in Highgate for G.C.S.E. and she enjoyed this school a lot more. "Particularly warmly remembered are my maths teacher, Mrs Lake; my History teacher, Julia Fox and my English teacher, Rosemary Roots."
She sent the manuscript of Hex to Pat White, an agent, and to Douglas Hill, a writer who has since turned into a friend. The agent agreed to represent Lassiter and Douglas Hill suggested Hex be sent to Macmillan. They liked it and asked to publish it. End of story so far.
