David Belbin was born in Sheffield, England, educated at an Infant School in Leicester, then at Junior and Secondary schools in West Kirby, Wirral. He was a sixth-former in Burnley, Lancs and went on to do a degree in English and American Literature at Nottingham University.
Before becoming a full-time writer, David was a conservation Ranger, Credit Union worker, street sweeper and teacher.
He owns a 25 yr old MG Midget and a Dawes hybrid bicycle.
He has just finished reading Phillip Pullman's "The Subtle Knife", which he found excellent, saying, "It'll be hard to wait for the conclusion to the trilogy." He is now reading "Women With Men" by Richard Ford, one of his favourite adult authors.
A fanatical music follower, David picked up countless CDs while on a recent trip to the USA. Favourites include REM, The Jayhawks and Joni Mitchell.
He regularly goes to live performances and writes: "The last Oasis gig I went to features in my novel, "Love Lessons", out soon. Apart from going to gigs, I visit the cinema most weeks, cycle a lot, noodle around on the internet and play badminton when I can.
