Recently, New Zealand author Bill Nagelkerke was announced the 2013 winner of the Storylines Margaret Mahy Medal and Lecture Award.
The award, begun in 1991, is given for a distinguished contribution to New Zealand children's literature and literacy.
Bill will be giving the Mahy Lecture at the Storylines' annual Margaret Mahy Day on 6 April, held at King's School, Remuera in Auckland.
I am today reissuing both of Bill's titles with ACHUKAbooks in new pictorial jackets. Both books will be on a low 99c/77p pricing for a few days to celebrate.
The Field, a strikingly constructed novella about a young girl who begins to have visions of the Virgin Mary, was the debut title in the ACHUKAbooks digital imprint.
Demons, a full-length novel, is at once a love story and an acknowledgement of the part belief systems of various kinds (religious and pagan) can still play in the lives of an ostensibly secular pair of young lovers.
