And now me as well. Thanks for pointing out this discussion, because though I do no professional reviewing, I've been thinking a lot lately about what I look for in a review; and what my own style of book blogging should be.
I also wonder how many of those who contributed to the Guardian discussion read 'classic' reviewers like Borges, Edmund Wilson, Orwell, even Pauline Kael (film).
