Teen Book Video Awards Debut Tonight
The young-adult-book focused event, based on three Random House Children’s Books titles, follows up the groundbreaking Book Video Awards event from this past May; while the initial Book Video Awards celebrated videos that promoted adult novels, the videos in this round are based on young-adult titles from authors Meg Rosoff, Markus Zusak and Libba Bray. Notably, all three novels—and the films derived from them—feature powerful, not particularly childlike themes (war, loss and death feature prominently in all three) and spotlight young, female protagonists.
