After eight months, hundreds of votes and hours of passionate debate in reading groups across the city, the first Manchester Book Award has been won by Jeremy Strong's teen novel Stuff.
The award's ceremony took place last Thursday (23rd)with an audience of over 300 people at the City of Manchester Stadium and Jeremy was presented with the award by fellow children's author Melvin Burgess.
Accepting his award, Jeremy Strong admitted to being bowled over. "I'm gobsmackingly amazed and terribly chuffed to have been shortlisted - and flabbergasted to have won. Manchester, you have the most wonderful taste!"
