Louise Arnold�s debut, The Invisible Friend, is so wise on the subject of friendship that I�d like adults to read it as well as children. Grey Arthur is a ghost � not a glorious eccentric of the kind that graces Eva Ibbotson�s novels, nor yet the scary but thespian spook of Oscar Wilde�s The Canterville Ghost, but one so meek and unobtrusive that he tends not to get noticed at all.
