I'm a 40 year-old woman (who fondly recalls enjoying Paula's books as a teen) who actually purchased, read & RE-read many of her books as an adult...I loved the quirky hunor & vibrant spirit they all had. "Remember Me to Harold Square" is my favorite, I think; the books loves NYC as much as I do. Never met her, but what a lovely lady. I'll miss her!
This is very sad news indeed. I met Paula only twice but remember both occasions vividly...she made me change my booking at a Glasgow hotel to hers so that we could 'hang out'before doing a book event together. It was a pleasure to hang out with Paula. She always had such wonderful shoes and scarves..just the kind of thing you wanted to try on yourself! Her books are still around to remind us.
